Since the age of 60, Běla Kolářová has been one of the most prominent figures in Czech fine art and photography. Her unique work was created simultaneously with the work of her husband Jiří Kolář, but it was never in her shadow. The retrospective monograph published under the joint care of the Arbor Vitae publishing house and the Egon Schiele Art Center includes the essential text The Story of Běla Kolářová by Josef Hlaváček, which for the first time fully reveals Běla Kolářová not only as an author of assemblages and collages, but also as a creator without whose innovative contribution the context of the development of Czech post-war photography was not complete. In addition to the introductory text, the Czech-German-English monograph contains a comprehensive biographical overview with a number of documentary photographs and 143 reproductions on 176 pages.
